UpStarter Benefits

Our core business is focused on advancing ideas that offer innovative Jewish engagement opportunities.

After a selective application process, the invited participants join our dynamic and supportive community for up to three years and become known as "UpStarters." Thereafter, UpStarters join our alumni network.

Each UpStarter enjoys these benefits:

  • One-on-one business consulting with our in-house expert;
  • Personal guidance in developing effective programs;
  • Personal guidance in Jewish learning and content development;
  • Personal guidance in setting up effective accounting and budgeting systems;
  • Access to a $5,000 grant in advancing your work;
  • Access to UpStart’s corps of business specialists;
  • Round table discussions with leaders in fields relevant to UpStarters’ needs;
  • Showcasing opportunities to increase organizational visibility;
  • Learning intensive to advance knowledge and skills in nonprofit management;
  • Marketing-communications and public relations guidance;
  • Peer teaching and learning;  
  • Reserved spaces at all public UpStart events;
  • Drop-in use of UpStart’s office space (free WI-FI, photocopying, fax, coffee/tea, snacks);
  • Dedication of UpStart's supportive staff to help meet your professional needs.

In addition to the benefits offered above, successful applicants whose project articulates a significant service/social action strategy for its work will receive these addtional benefits from Repair The World:

  • A $5,000 grant in technical assistance (on top of the $5,000 mentioned above);
  • Inclusion into Repair the World’s community of practice and technical assistance offerings in the area of Jewish service/social action;
  • Invitation to gatherings of Jewish service learning providers;
  • Mentors for each UpStarter (fully managed by Repair the World);
  • Connections with leading practitioners in your field;
  • Publicity and promotion by Repair the World.
